October is at the door and we feel the change in the air. It’s time to put the summer clothes away and get the warmer ones out. Our October Artists of the Month are all about cozy.
Jan Hurd takes reversibility to a brilliant level. Her eye-catching belts are two-sided, as are her two styles of headbands. Her excellent color sense meets soft warmth in her knitted hats and neck warmers. Bona Fiske Kidston makes lusciously warm mittens from recycled sweaters and lines them with synthetic fleece. The hand-felted hats by Susan Tornheim combine felted wool tops with hand-knit bottoms, many embellished with antique buttons or embroidery. These colorful, tactile toppers repel rain and snow and keep you warm and dry.
