Looking through Donna Karl’s stained glass is a perfect way to watch for the signs of spring that are starting to appear. A featured artist in March, Donna began making leaded stained-glass pieces and then switched to using copper foil, a more versatile technique. Fish, flowers, and leaves are among her many subjects.
Our other Artist of the Month in March is Julia Tenney, who makes pysanky, Ukrainian decorated eggs, made with a wax-resist process. Julia makes both traditional and contemporary designs. A portion of her pysanky sales are donated to vetted groups helping to defend and rebuild Ukraine.
