Two of our members are featured this month, Sholeh Regna and Emily Bhargava.
You can see the work of our newest member, Emily Bhargava, when you visit us. Her one-of-a-kind mosaic pendants use everyday objects and common materials to create striking and stylish pieces. Many of these tiny works of art explore concerns in her life or celebrate the treasures that she comes across daily.
Sholeh is a visual artist working in Somerville MA in her studiot at 6 Vernon Street. You can see her porcelain as well as reversible marbled birch Jewelry, ceramic sculptures and monotypes at the store.
She incorporates 22K gold and white gold on her porcelain jewelry. Many are inspired by the landscape from Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland, which is a world heritage site.
The Birch earrings are reversible. They are marbled on both sides using acrylic paint with a technique called Ebru, an ancient technique of “painting on Water”.
The ceramic bird sculptures are hallow so that one can put a message inside for the recipient, thus making them a keepsake.
The reproductions of her monotypes and as well as cards with various bird imagery suitable for any occasion are on the offer as well.
