Elizabeth Kinder Ceramics

My work is hand-thrown on the wheel. Wax resist is the basis for all of my surface treatment. I use multiple clay bodies, 3 different firing techniques, and HUNDREDS of glaze combinations. My inspiration comes from plants, flowers, wrought iron, textiles and food. I love color and pattern. I’ve been making pottery for over 35 years, and I still look forward to every day I get to be a potter. Clay is such a malleable medium; it seems to absorb this joy. The most common thing I hear when people approach a display of my work is, “This is so HAPPY!”
